Dad's Gaming Addiction - Channel Intro
Btw do you know if there’s a cap on aphids for one plant? I imagine if they continue spawning aphid plants or respawning them on plants you’ve cleared, you might be able to get a pretty insane food source right next to your base. Edit: Nevermind, looked it up and apparently there’s a cap of 50 milkweed aphids on milkweed plants. Also, they produce honeydew every 75 seconds at 6-10 food a pop, so on average a maxed milkweed plant would give around 320 food per minute.
Good info!
Btw I'm not sure if you've noticed a lot of the ants only have special abilities at level 3 which is usually the main reason for upgrading them. For example the leafcutters only get stun or taunt at level 3 and same with the wood ants. (level 3 may cost a lot but it is usually worth it for the abilities alone if not for the extra stats)
Survival becomes borderline impossible when you’re about to win.
I'm curious to see if you've messed around with the mortar type wood ants yet. They are one of the other species of ants that is worth it for level three depending on your situation. Their incredible splash damage makes them extremely useful for crowd control usually a more mid-late game thing but they are still great for early game is you have body shields like fire ants.
Yes I have, though I prefer the rapid fire ants.
if you look closely at the minimap at 50:25, there's another uber creature which spawned just few seconds after the first one, so the narrator didn't cover the second one
I saw somebody play with the bullet ants and once they were done upgrading they erased the speed tiles and put more bullet ants in where the speed tiles were and it worked
Good to know.
Please do more of this survival challenge in empire of the undergrowth
Part two is coming. How soon depends on the view counts of the other videos.
@@DadsGamingAddiction cool but I hop on seeing a army of ants 😀😃😳
I have a suggestion why don't you unlock the other ants when you copleted the game
31 minutes? Also how did i open youtube at the perfect time Survival is literally the survive objective in fc5
The only thing that I hate about this video is how he place his brood tiles
37:16 blue went transparent meaning they died
Btw why don’t you use wood ants? The amplification of venom/physical damage (whichever you chose in your formicarium) would really help your fire ants, and they’re just really good damage themselves. Edit: Why’d you take so long to get the ranged wood ants?
Also, throwing in a few majors that reduce damage taken or cause damage reflection would be pretty good imo
Not to be mean but Wood ants is not that good for this challenge or even tier 5 also major leafcutters? Have you beaten the game? It's mostly outclassed by other colony units or bullet ants but you still got a point except for your point about wood ants
"Why’d you take so long to get the ranged wood ants?" Because I'm the one behind the keyboard playing the game. It's not up to you, or anyone else, how I choose to play MY game.
@@DadsGamingAddiction yeah fair enough, I was just curious if there was a practical purpose to it. Sorry if it seemed like I was attacking your playstyle.
Always enjoy the uploads Vince. Y’all gonna stream some 7 Days 1.0 soon?
Hi there! Possibly, I've been waiting for the 7 days 1.0 launch before starting anything new. Personally not a fan of the book system so I spawn them periodically for my family to keep a sense of progression. I'll be curious to see if they change or adjust that system in 1.0.
Okay cool man looking forward to more videos
No its setting its keep from insects to fight it each
can you give it a try to increase enemy food drop but put everything on meduium difficulty or something and mabey even add waves if you want
I'm waiting for more views on the previous videos (or a donation) before doing more of these videos, but I'll consider your suggestions if I do.
For what i know the ending changed or something because all i remembered was the scientist putting you in a cabinet
I wonder if you're thinking of winning an earlier milestone...it's been a while and don't remember what they were honestly.
I think once you upgrade the bullet ant to level 3 you can delete the speed tile and put another bullet ant there
Try making a big area for the bullet ants then line the area with speed tiles so no ants are left unable to grow when you fill it
and I thought that this big ant was an ant Dinomyrmex gigas
tip: you don't need to set the pheromone marker underground to meke the ants go underground if you remove the marker completely the ants in that pheromone group will automaticly go near the qween
What’s ironic is that despite your speech on not liking upgrades on ants, you were using the two ants where upgrading is good, since it’s required to hatch a bullet ant and tier 3 fire ants hatch a doppelganger, making them more cost efficient.
The perfect time to share this: ua-cam.com/video/IzggBwBqSoo/v-deo.html
@@DadsGamingAddiction You forgot a few positives of upgrading in that video. 1. Efficiency of Respawns: Yes, while the upfront cost will likely not be offset by how much you save by having your ants respawn less, it is still a factor and can be important in some cases, especially in cases where ants would be oneshot without upgrades and twoshot with upgrades 2. I’ve noticed that when in tight spaces, some melee ants don’t participate in the fight until some of them that are fighting die. I think (not guaranteed, just based on my observations) that there is an amount of fighting space that each ant takes up and eventually no more can fit, so they just wander around until there is space. In situations like this, upgrading increases the health and damage of the meat wall. Yes, having more ants there to replace the ones that die would make the wall have more bodies to replace the damage, but if you have ants not participating anyway, they can enter upgraded and buy time for more upgraded ants to come back from the nest. 3. Going back to point 1 and ants not getting oneshot, what about the cases where upgrading would let an ant oneshot instead of twoshot? I don’t actually know any cases of this but I’m sure there are some, or at least some that remove one attack from three. 4. There are limited spaces for ants to ride larger creatures (I forget the actual term but whatever the thing is that lets them make other ants attacking the target do more damage). Thus, upgrading the ants that are on the creatures increases the damage that they can deal. This isn’t a big deal in most cases, but when those creatures run away while on low health like the lizards in the medic ant termite missions, it can let them finish it off before it gets too far from the nest and the ones riding it get stranded. 5. It feel good (yes I know you had “you feel like it” as a point but it bears restating)
I always just do all species for Gene Thief, and yet the AI just spawns the leafcutters that get riped apart by my bullet ants. wish AI could adapt and replace the useless ants according to the situation.
Yeah, understandable.
-Make 2 groups of soldiers or workers and medics (separately) - send them on suicide mission (disable fighting for the attacker group) - you get free ants from medics and hatched ones - less food wasted instead of making more tiles for 100 food *profit*
I’ll have to give that a try! Definitely morbid but economical, Lol!
Are lvl 1 termites more cost efficient than lvl 3 termites?
Using this data: empires-of-the-undergrowth.fandom.com/wiki/Termite and my way of calculating: ua-cam.com/video/IzggBwBqSoo/v-deo.html You should be able to figure out that question. I can’t do the math right now but none of them get an attack speed increase like some other ant types, so I’m going with Tier 1.
The one green worker just between the scorpion and bullet ants just went through the 5 stages of grief
LOL
If you wish to show off battles vs Uber creatures, there may be some specially designed free play to allow that. I’m not good at designing free plays myself, but I believe 1 possibility could be: Set environment difficulty to 80%. Set difficulty scaling to constant, or spikes, so that it never goes beyond. Intentionally remove all non-Uber creatures besides wood louse and wood worm. These two are the only creatures I know without an attack function, which means the only creatures able to contribute to the real difficulty of the map are Ubers or rivals. Perhaps landmarks, if they’re enabled too. I know it’s a very unusual scenario, but I think it might work. Perhaps you could add some easier creatures like beetle larvae to spice things up a little without giving the game enough to go crazy. The most time efficient and reliable method though is likely the battle arena if you decide to do that.
Cool, I'll have to give that a try.
I did not like when you space out the bullet ants and add speed tiles next to each other just why what the point when you could have just place them together
Bullet ant tiles on the outside of the honeycomb could never be upgraded, so you're wasting 150 food just to upgrade others on the inside. It's more economical to use speed tiles on the outside when done building bullet ants.
@@DadsGamingAddiction But all you have to do is dig and food you can just get it under ground or above ground and when you place the speed tiles aound the bullet ants you wasted so much space for more bullet ants and get less bullet ants then you could have gotten
I can't win. Folks in the last video told me to try speed tiles and they were right, it's more economical. Now you're complaining that I used them. I'm going to repeat my last statement. Bullet ant tiles on the outside of the honeycomb could never be upgraded. Read that, comprehend that. With your logic, to get one bullet ant, you'd need to spend 150 for the middle and 150x6 for the 6 around it, + more to get the adjacency bonuses for those tiles. That's what I did in the previous video and it was expensive. To field bullet ants more quickly, speed tiles are better because they are super cheap.
Bullet ants are extremely op lol
Yeah, just expensive to field initially.
W vid
Green had a bullet ant tile but you missed it
If u play on insane and put starting difficulty on Max Ubers spawn much more often
On imposible difficulty*
The gold number on those plants is the number of aphids, the ants place captured ones on the closest plant.( you were correct)
38:55 and yes the stingers did something to it and that something is paralysis the ability of the bullet which is OP
Oh yes! I tested them in battle arena against the titans, and I can confirm how op paralysis is. There is no creature in the game that is immune to getting paralyzed
@@SeriousGranade apparently it also increases damage but i didn't really see that
Fun fact: if you look at the erepter queen face and the bullet ant they look kind of the same implying that bullet ant genes we're used to create an erepter queen
Also final thing i say ubers take time to spawn because you put the freeplay on easy difficulty the higher the difficulty the more ubers will spawn.
40:33 yes and actually as a fact every ant does very slowly indeed but yes they all do regen.
I think it is like 0.1 per sec. Black ants can just jack that up with self-repair
@@victory8928 bullet ants too can get more regen instead of lean population though.
22:10 yes i learned quite recently but there is a specific toggle for food and aphids they aren't groupes up. It's the one beside the climbing / rescue toggle.
21:07 yes they can. Did you never build a chamber of 19 and put a speed time at the opening. I am really sorry for asking you this but how long have been playing this game ?
Just what are you implying? For as many videos as I release daily, I do have a life outside of video games.
@@DadsGamingAddiction i know me too sorry for asking that question again.
@@DadsGamingAddiction I was just curious that's it.
Try adding some matabele in the mix so you can have pretty much double the amount of bullet ants you have
I still dont understand why you hate upgrading lol but to each their own!
There is a certain balance to the unit system. At first, just going for quantity works fine, but once you get your numbers high enough, it actually becomes more optimal to upgrade your ants, because by that point you have just about every attack angle covered, and any more ants would just be waiting in the back. For me, I usually start upgrading my ants when I get about 40-50 of them, that's like the sweet spot for most ant colonies.
This is why: ua-cam.com/video/IzggBwBqSoo/v-deo.html
How do you get the major leafcutters and termite minor and majors and stuff in adaptations? Is this a mod or achievement rewards or?
You just have to advance in the campaign story. You get new things as you complete milestone levels. I did not use any mods.
Wth this ants, she's so powerful the price is justified.
Fire ants are actually great to lvl3 since they get 2 fire ants and since fire ants stat is max at 2lvl its essentially 2 lvl3 for 120 food minimum
And another thing for lvl3 ants is they increase in size so you get fewer ants to make the bridge and secondly, the extra fire ant from the lvl3 fire ants is that they don't add population
You don't have to new game + is basically rehousing you keep everything except food and territory
When upgrading chambers, speed tiles provide adjacency for every other tile in the game, and only cost 5 food to place. So if you use speed tiles, the theoretical minimum cost of your first bullet ant is the low price of 560 food. It’s not a perfect solution since every excess speed tile burns 2 food, but it is an option to get them on the board faster.
Very neat ants! Thanks for the video! A bit of a tip - surrounding bullet ant tiles with speed-up tiles increases their upgrade points, allowing to get all the bullet ants to lvl 3.
That's good to know, wasn't sure if adjacency had to be the same type or not.
Also thanks for the donation! The rest of you all take note...that's the quickest way to see more of these vids.
You should upgrade the fire ants to lvl 3 because they can make 2 ants in one tile@@DadsGamingAddiction
I'm aware, did that during the final formicarium mission.
Nice! One unique challenge is playing as Gene Thief, but also having one of the enemy colonies being your Gene Thief Formica Ereptor colony as well; essentially fighting yourself. There is also some 2v2 potential on this Imprisoned map, definitely my favorite.
That’s alot of adaptations you can get!
Yeah, Bullet Ants are no joke. Whether you're a mantis, a beetle, or a spider, it doesn't matter, they will carve them up in no time.
i tried to do the final experiment, i got 17 minutes in, then i failed. i was upset
Also upgraded termite workers majors can carry 5 times the food, so 20 upgraded ones can haul like 100 upgraded ones, I enjoy playing many ungraded ants but I feel that style is why I had such a hard time. It’s a fun game and I’m looking forward to getting the termite efficiency pegged. Have fun bud!
Major Workers carry 3 times per the wiki under harvest amount, unless they have a special ability I'm not seeing. Either way though, they were cool to mess around with. :) empires-of-the-undergrowth.fandom.com/wiki/Termite
